Overview…
People are different. While this statement is obvious, it has enormous implications for how well we work together and whether we achieve the high level of results we expect.
How very often at work we judge the different styles of others as a problem, a deficiency, or just a plain nuisance. By contrast, those who get the greatest results through their working relationships are those who choose to appreciate and tap into the varying talents, perspectives and priorities of others. This fact holds regardless of whether the “other” is your boss, your employee, your co-worker, your customer, or even a volunteer.
This one-day program will help reduce costly conflict and miscommunication in your organization or unit. It is a fast-paced, participant interactive workshop that provides a new level of self-discovery, several critical concepts about personality-in-action in the workplace, and practical strategies to flex to the natural styles of others who are key to your own effectiveness and your impact on results.
Points Regarding This Program…
- Target audience is, first and foremost, managers who want to increase their effectiveness influencing their staff and others. For them we give the day a leadership “spin.”
- This workshop also works very well as a full day learning event for an intact unit or department.
- Participants first learn about the four Interaction Styles and identify their “best fit” style. They then engage in hands-on exercises and cases that reveal their Interaction Style in action and what happens when they work with people who prefer another style.
- A two-day version of Understanding Yourself and Others is available. It incorporates the additional lens of Temperament and linkages to psychological Type (Myers-Briggs).
