Overview…
To be effective, managers must BOTH perform typical "management" duties (plan, organize, measure, control) AND provide "leadership" (set vision, align people, motivate, integrate work output).
Your mid-level managers remain a largely untapped leverage point for greater productivity. These individuals–not the executives–are the ones who ultimately turn vision and goals into action and results. They have a huge impact on how engaged and committed your employees will be. And research now shows that highly engaged staff generate greater results!
This program covers the range of managerial skills that are essential for fostering an engaged workforce. Blending interpersonal effectiveness with a strong orientation toward business results, these skill areas include self-awareness, interacting with others, leading staff, and focusing everyone on achieving maximum performance.
The Skillful Leader takes place over six (elapsed) days which can be spread over several months. Each action-oriented day is designed to build upon the preceding phases. Hence, all days must be taken in sequence.

Points Regarding This Program …
Target audience is managers, mid-level and up, who will benefit from a comprehensive, well-rounded program.
Participants receive a 230-page resource binder with all of the important content: learning points, short text pieces, cases, etc.
Interstrength®Temperament Assessment and Interstrength® Interaction Styles instruments provide common ways to talk about managing style, especially with respect to key functions such as planning, objective-setting, visioning, confronting poor performance, and motivating.
Every participant receives a one-hour coaching session with one of our facilitators after each two-day segment (a total of three hours of coaching). We help them understand any material on which they are not clear. We both challenge and encourage them to try out and practice newly learned behaviors. And we support them around any skills which they find particularly difficult to apply
We strongly recommend maximum of 24 participants in order to ensure participants have ample opportunity to participate, interact with the presenter, and satisfy their particular learning needs.
For a full year your participating managers receive a monthly e-mail that highlights a key lesson from the curriculum and introduces new ideas and tips not presented in class.
